How can we make digital education inclusive for blind and visually impaired people? What benefits can new technologies such as 3D printing bring specifically for people with visual impairments? What role do educational institutions play here? To present some ideas on these questions, we invite you to our event on 3D printing technology: How do people with visual impairments benefit?

The event is part of the T4VIS-In3D project and is supported by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.

14.30 – 14.40 Presentation of the project – The T4VIS-In3D project “Trainers for Visually Impaired Students Introduce 3D Printing – Creating tactile teaching materials by 3D printing” (Jürgen Hüllen, Project Manager, Berufsförderungswerk Düren GmbH, Germany)
14.40 – 15.00 Presentation of the preliminary project results: Teaching programme for educators and students with visual impairments on the use of 3D printing technology (Johannes Kirchmayer, Information Technology, Hilfsgemeinschaft der Blinden und Sehschwachen Österreichs) (Daniele Marano, Projects, Hilfsgemeinschaft der Blinden und Sehschwachen Österreichs).
15.00 – 15.40 Panel discussion “Diversity of applications of 3D printing technology: education, assistive technology, orientation and mobility, career opportunities”.
